Mayors' Roundtables

Since 2014, The CLEO Institute has been hosting roundtable luncheon discussions with elected mayors and representatives from several municipalities in Miami-Dade County. These roundtables aim to connect local elected leaders to discuss and share:

  • climate vulnerabilities
  • resilience strategies
  • resources
  • best practices
  • and innovative ideas

Local government representatives from all over South Florida have come together to discuss climate adaptation and mitigation efforts throughout the county. Attendees are introduced to various climate- and sea-level-rise-related resolutions and can share personal successes, challenges, and efforts for their municipalities. These discussions promote sharing best practices and joint planning toward infrastructure improvements and climate readiness. The municipal representatives discuss resources they are using, barriers to building climate resilience, and plans for continuing to build climate resilience in their own community.
