The NAACP and Environmental & Climate Justice

Jacques Werleigh will discuss the intersection of climate and social and racial justice. He will also talk about the NAACP Environmental & Climate Justice Program, and speak on resources and actions available to the community.

Jacques Werleigh is an Environmental & Sustainability Consultant, who has spent close to 10 years engaging various stakeholders and coordinating projects regionally and internationally in environmental and sustainability policies and initiatives. Outside of Haiti, Jacques works nationally and locally on policy and projects related to urban agriculture and agroecology, food systems planning and farmworker rights, sustainability, and resilience especially in the Water, Energy, and Food Nexus. He is currently serving as the Environmental & Climate Justice Florida Field Organizer for the NAACP ECJ Program, where he engages the NAACP Florida State Conference, Branch Presidents & ECJ Chairs, and community to advance the ECJ Program’s mission and strategic objectives. He is the owner and principal consultant at Jacques of All Trades Consulting LLC, holds a B.S in Biology from the University of Central Florida, and an M.A in Global Sustainability from the University of South Florida.
