Why Extreme Heat Matters

11 16, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Extreme heat, which has been deemed the deadliest weather hazard for the past 30 years, has severe consequences on human health and well-being. The negative impacts of extreme heat exposure are not evenly distributed and mirror existing socioeconomic inequalities. Understanding who is most vulnerable, as well as what problems frontline communities are facing is key in crafting strategies to overcome this climate challenge! Join The CLEO Institute and Dr. Zinzi Bailey, and Dr. Kilan C Ashad-Bishop, to better understand how climate is impacting health and learn more about our collaborative project that seeks to better understand who is disproportionately by heat waves and why.
