In 2020 CLEO, in partnership with The VoLo Foundation, the Union of Concerned Scientists, and Zubi Advertising, launched its’ second statewide campaign called Melting Florida. The goal of the campaign was to continue to raise awareness amongst Floridians, with stunning visuals and simple messaging that immediately translate both the urgency and personal impact.
Using iconic images, we developed 3 wax statues that melted when temperatures exceeded 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Lifeguard House – More Climate Crisis, Less Beaches
- Highlighting the vulnerability of our quality of life and our economy
The Florida Panther – More Climate Crisis, Less Wildlife
- Highlighting our vulnerable biodiversity
The Florida Grandfather and Granddaughter – More Climate Crisis, Less Health
- Highlighting our health vulnerability and the legacy we will leave behind to our future generations
The statues debuted in September in conjunction with press conferences in Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, as well as a town hall event with NBC6, and 3 webinars to educate people on extreme heat, hurricanes, and the vulnerability of our agricultural workers with regards to global warming.
Exceeding our expectations, Melting Florida has gone on to win multiple international, national, and local awards including 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze at El Ojo de Iberoamérica, finalists in #OSawards by The One Club for Creativity: 1x Design, Brand Installations, Shortlist at LIA – London International Awards in Design: Installations/Displays, 1 Bronze in Innovation in Outdoor/Ambient at FIAP, Festival Iberoamericano de la Creatividad, 3 Shortlists at FIAP – Festival Iberoamericano de la Publicidad, 1 Bronze and 2 Crystals on AD STARS , 10 finalists in AD STARS (10 finalists out of our 10 entries, Merits in The One Show 2021, shortlisted for 3 #ADCAwards in Innovation – Out of Home, Craft – Sustainability and Design for Good categories, and 10 Gold, and 2 Silver ADDY Awards, just to name a few!
