The CLEO Institute launches Public Service Announcement in collaboration with award-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Landsberg

MIAMI, FL — The CLEO Institute is proud to announce the launch of a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video that was made in collaboration with Award-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Landsberg from Unicorn Fire Studios. Titled “Meet the Inheritors of Climate Change”, this video was produced with the hope of engaging parents from all over the world, despite their political or religious beliefs, to protect their children’s current—and future—climate reality, just like millions of parents did 49 years ago, on the first Earth Day celebration.

Michael Landsberg chose CLEO as its partner to produce a 30 second PSA featuring kids from the community. Children volunteered their time and voices to help wake up the adults with regards to the climate change impacts they are inheriting.  The goal of this PSA is to get the community to understand what’s at stake.

The video was spearheaded by Mia Kirn. As a mother of two and ex-television producer who lives in Miami, Mia attended a CLEO 101 presentation and was moved to then volunteer her time, skills, and contacts to get the message about climate change out. She told her lifelong friend Michael Landsberg about CLEO´s mission to educate the community on climate change. Michael, also a father, felt as concerned about getting the message out, and together they both decided to produce and donate a 30 second PSA to CLEO. Mia reached out to her children´s friends that felt passionate about spreading the word on climate change and received many volunteers. The shoot ran for two days at Unicorn Fire Studios and more than 20 children showed up to be in the PSA. CLEO is so grateful to all the kids that participated and to Unicorn Fire Studios to donating valuable studio time, equipment, and efforts.

Mia’s tremendous passion for climate change education even led to her pursuing a job at CLEO, where she now works as our Communications & Development Coordinator.
