Be Prepared

Climate change is making extreme weather more extreme.

Bigger, wetter hurricanes; longer, hotter heat waves; shifting tornado zones; extended droughts; and record-breaking wildfires are just some of the examples of the way climate change is impacting the weather.

In South Florida, extreme weather season runs from May 1st (the start of heat season) to November 30th (when hurricane season ends). Sometimes it feels like we can’t catch a break! Some of the information below is specific to Miami-Dade County, but a lot of it isn’t. If you’re in an area affected by heat, floods, or hurricanes, take a look. Don’t wait. Be prepared. Later may be too late.
